Keywords:To satisfy the demands and requirements of industrial and power system works, McMahon Engineering Consultancy Limited (MECL) was formed by combining the professions of project management effectively with electrical, electronic and instrumentation engineering.
Using these resources a team approach is organized to meet the objectives of project work as required by the client. MECL’s objective is to provide an in depth electrical engineering resource that can augment on site resources, assist client companies, or design, manage and integrate off-shore supplied turnkey packages.
MECL provides all facets of project requirements. In particular, conceptual and detail design, supervision of installation and commissioning, final handover and post project support. The company has considerable power system experience, in particular in turbine/generation automation and protection. This experience, in combination with our industrial experience, ensures we are conversant with the latest in industrial control techniques.
SERVICES
MECL has considerable experience in programmable logic control, instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems, telemetry and SCADA system and protection systems that have become regular requirements of power projects.
This experience, combined with our ability to design high voltage reticulation and generation plants, allows us to design complete green field plant installations from incoming power supplies to machine controls.
We have the in house qualifications and experience to design total packages from the P & ID development through the detailed design phase, and onto installation supervision and plant commissioning with all required documentation and drawings provided from within our office.
This in depth electrical engineering resource has been successfully employed over the last 30 years at such sites as Barrick Mines (PNG). PWE Yulara (Northern Territories), AGL/Southern Hydro, Santos Australia PTY Ltd, Rarotonga Electricity, Tasman Pulp & Paper, Kauri Dairy Company, Fonterra, Poihipi Geothermal, Kiwi Dairies, Whareroa Cogeneration, Rangipo and Tokaanu Power station upgrades and the Ardmore Filter Station controls upgrade.
Where needed, MECL can source mechanical and process experience from a range of other designers, and consultants with whom we have a close working relationship. |
