Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) Ltd is a council-controlled organisation, established in November 2010. In recognition of the role Auckland plays in the New Zealand economy the ATEED Board set a vision for ATEED to “improve New Zealand’s economic prosperity by leading the successful transformation of Auckland’s economy”.
ATEED’s structured in four business units – destination, business and sector development, planning and performance, marketing and communications.
Ensure that Auckland continues to attract and deliver a portfolio of major events aligned with Auckland’s Major Events Strategy, to improve the visitor experience and grow the visitor economy.
Responsible for increasing Auckland’s profile both nationally and internationally and ensuring it is a sought after global destination.

We recognised that our tourism and events teams were largely seeking to achieve the same goals for Auckland; increased visitation and international profile. We have merged these two units into a powerful and integrated Destination Group to ensure the best possible leverage across these teams. |
